Contingency Fee
Our fee structure allows you to afford to hire a lawyer
Legal actions arising out of the negligence of a mental health provider are often expensive to successfully pursue. Fortunately, our fee structure is set so we bear the risk, not our clients. At the Law Offices of Skip Simpson, we work on a contingency fee basis. That means we receive a percentage of the recovery. We do not work on a standard hourly rate (you may, however, opt for an hourly rate). This fee structure shifts the financial risk from the clients to the law firm. We are paid if, and only if, there is a recovery on the claim.
Additionally, any out-of-pocket expenses incurred in pursuing the claim, such as filing fees, copying costs, travel, deposition costs, and expert costs, are paid out of the recovery the client receives. If you fail to make a recovery on a claim, you are not responsible for any costs, nor are you responsible for any legal fees. Furthermore, there is no charge for us to review your case while we determine whether to accept it. We will carefully highlight all of these issues in the fee agreement if your case is accepted.
